Meg Mooney-Gibbs is the spirited founder of Mustard Grape, a wine venture that’s as vibrant and distinctive as the woman behind it. Established in 2023, Mustard Grape blends Meg's two decades of hands-on experience in the wine industry with her enthusiasm for creativity, art, and business.
Meg’s journey in the wine world started at just 19, when she jumped headfirst into the industry, taking on roles as a laboratory technician, cellar hand, and vineyard pruner at Willow Bridge Estate in the Ferguson Valley, before moving to complete 3 vintages with Houghton Wines in the Swan Valley. Her technical skills and love for winemaking blossomed in those early years, laying the foundation for her future success.
After expanding her horizons with a two-year stint in the UK, Meg delved into hospitality, event management, and hosting. Her travels across Europe further enriched her perspective and skills. Upon returning to Australia, she resumed her role at Houghton Wines while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art and Fashion, including web and graphic design. This period also saw her establishing 'Nanna Gwen Textile Designs' in 2010, reflecting her passion for art and design.
Like many West Australians she also ventured into the mining industry with Rio Tinto and FMG, taking on a range of roles in administration, projects, health and safety, fleet management, and pit operations. She's the first to get her hands dirty and try something new—a true testament to her versatile and adventurous spirit.
From 2020 to 2023, Meg took on the role of Cellar Door Sales, Tours, Events, and Wine Club Manager at Sandalford Wines in the Swan Valley, where she continued to build her reputation for excellent customer service and her knack for creating unforgettable wine experiences.

In 2023, Meg added another feather to her cap, completing a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Economics & Finance, enriching her extensive wine knowledge with sharp business insight. She’s got a great head for numbers and an even greater passion for wine—and the combination is the perfect recipe for Mustard Grape’s success.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Meg’s creativity shines through her vintage caravan renovations (a shared passion with her husband and small family), and her love for travel. She’s always on the lookout for hidden gems in Australia and abroad, with a special fondness for uncovering lesser-known wine regions and savoring a glass of red in picturesque settings.
With a deep love for wine, art, design, and a knack for turning every project into an experience, Meg is dedicated to bringing something fresh and exciting to the world of wine through Mustard Grape.
